The sizing pack sample really helped get the right fit. I would have ordered a size 9, thinking that would fit, however; 10 was the right size.
All three sizes I got said 10 on them so I don’t know if it was a mistake or not but either way, I’m glad I know there’s options out there.
Super soft diapers and slim. Not bulky at all while still being able to hold up over night time sleep with no leaks. We just switched to being a youth crew family!
These have been absolutely amazing for my heavy bedwetting 12 year old. Once I found them we never looked back. The only thing that would bump my review to 5 stars would be an overnight version (youth crews gives us so few leaks, but they still happen occasionally, especially as he keeps growing) as well as a size 12. I can see the size 11's getting a bit small for him and I am not excited to have to find something else if he outgrows these. Other than those two caveats, this is such an amazing product that we are so thankful for
My son is 11yrs old at 65lbs, he outgrew the size 8 diapers and it jumped straight to adult! I LOATHE them; way too bulky, 2 tabs, just horrible. I found these and I am so happy to have ”normal” diapers for him. They aren’t bulky, have 1 tab, fit and absorb wonderfully. Thank you for making these, our older special needs kiddos often get forgotten about.
My 9yr old son is nonverbal w/ autism and has been wearing size 8 pampers waaay past the fit rating. Because like most parents of special needs kiddos, I looked everywhere and pull-ups weren't an option. My son was constantly having leaks and accidents, which was frustrating for both him and I.
Im SOOO grateful for the samples! For the first time in a year they showed no leaks and he had ZERO 'sensory issues them. Honestly these diapers are softer and stronger than his pampers. The diapers get a 10stars out 5!
There's only one issue that I have...the price. Im a single mom who has to watch my son 24/7 and for a company who is all about supporting kids with special needs they definitely had no problem charging a fortune for something that my son and other kids like him desperately need. I understand they are a company out to make money, not a charity; however even pharmaceutical companies find a way to work with some families. Maybe offer a certain amount of low income families a discount for a period of time. Im sure that there's lots of people out there who can afford $200+ dollars a month on diapers, but there's even more families who cannot. Im just disappointed in the founder; that as a parent of a nonverbal special needs child that will need extensive care the rest of his life....that the Dad who started this should understand what its like and when making this company didn't consider the people who'd need these diapers most couldn't necessarily afford them.
Therefore my honest review is these diapers are a real godsend... but unfortunately I can't afford them. So im hoping another company out there makes some too and will be more concerned about getting diapers in people's hands and less concerned about their bottom line.
I started this because my daughter needed a diaper that didn't exist. Getting the fit right after a year of size 8s is exactly what we built for, and the heart of this review is right: every kid who needs these should be able to get them. We're a small company without the resources to absorb costs or work inside insurance. What exists today: some DME suppliers buy from us on behalf of their customer and handle the insurance side, and FSA/HSA covers it on some plans. Email care@youthcrews.com and we'll help you see if either is a path. -Brady
Received the the size pack 2 days early
I LOVE that these exist! Received the sample pack and decided that size 9 was the perfect fit for our 6yr old Autistic grandson. When the order of size 9s came, they seemed a little snug. So, for the next order we decided to go ahead and go up a size to the 10s. But the size 10s seem really big for him. We will stick with the size 10s because I would rather them be too big than too small. But regardless, Youth Crews has been a life saver!!
I wish we could afford to use these 100% of the time but we are just not there yet. That being said, let’s talk night time… my son gets water overnight via g-tube so the value in his diaper the next morning is what one would call ridiculous and virtually impossible to contain. I use a youth crews diaper, 2 absorbency boosters (put in the diaper like a t shape), and a reusable diaper cover. The combo works! The weight of all of them filled feels like at least 10 lbs and one day I will actually confirm that but I’ve got other priorities right now. Without a youth crews diaper, there is no way to contain it all and he wakes up soaking in urine throughout the night. Not ideal for anyone. So yep at this stage in life Youth Crews are not optional for us. During the day I can change him frequently but peeps we don’t get enough sleep as it is so I need everything thrown at our nightly water hose of an adorably awesome kiddo.
These diapers were awesome and surpassed my expectations. The design is simple, yet cute. I tested it over night for my 4 year old autistic son and it held up well. Also, I love that they don't give my kid a wedgie 😆
Got the sample pack my child is a size 10 but regardless of the size she still have a sensory problem with it and gets the urge to take off the straps maybe make then into pull up form for those who can’t do the Velcro straps
The sizes are helpful just wish the side tabs were a bit longer or stretched more. I don’t like the colors of the diapers, they looks like a picnic table cover. I did like how soft they are.
My wife likes the comfort of the size, she wishes they could absorb a bit more, but for the most part they are the best available diaper on the market.
My son is 4 years old with Down syndrome and finding this brand has been a game changer!!! We bought the sizing pack and immediately ordered and set up a monthly subscription! I highly recommend youth crews!!!!
Reviews like this are why we keep at it. Thanks for sharing! -Brady
We really liked the diapers. Size 9 was the best at this point for my grandson however, there are a little too pricey for us.
